About

The Computer Engineering (CPEG) program in the University of Notre Dame College of Engineering prepares students to engineer the hardware, software, and integrated systems that define modern technology.

Administered collaboratively by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering, the program combines the strengths of both disciplines in a single, interdisciplinary curriculum.

Students benefit from small class sizes, hands-on design experiences, and the flexibility to shape their studies through electives, research, and minors that reflect their goals and interests.

Mission

The Computer Engineering program forms ethical, skilled engineers prepared to lead in both hardware and software domains. In line with Notre Dame’s broader mission, the program seeks to educate the whole person — intellectually, morally, and spiritually — and to develop technologies that promote human flourishing and the common good.
